No Lonely Nights for Dreamers: Character Study
2020
Paper, Thread, Graphite
We lay on our arms in bed,
Like one collective being,
Until we fall dead asleep
Dreaming different things.
Sometimes when I dream,
There is nothing on the outside,
Like if the peel of an orange
Couldn’t hide its fruitful insides.
Sometimes when I dream,
I am with the beasts,
Nothing on their outsides
To hide their hearts and their teeth.
What if I want you to see
what I dream at night?
What if I want you see
what I’m made of?
Wait up,
Wait up for me,
I’m not turning
back now.
Wait up,
Wait up for me,
I’m not turning
back now.
